| Beyond the Textbook: A Focus on Teaching for Multiple Literacies in SS Education |

Presenters will focus on how to meet NYS SS Education Standards by focusing on both oracy and print literacy. They will share strategies for using fiction and non-fiction appropriate for young adult readers in class book clubs, for developing readers’ theatre approaches to better understanding historical documents and experience, and for exploring multi-genre research writing with Social Studies content and contexts. |
