Bringing Social Studies to Life: A Living Museum
This creative and exciting project is the highlight of the year for my fifth grade students. As a hands-on culminating Social Studies project, my students and I choose a topic relevant to the 5th grade core curriculum and break it into subtopics. The students then become experts on an assigned sub-topic. Next, the students write skits and create a museum in which they are the props and displays. Topics of past museums were: The Civil War, Wars of the United States, Slavery: then and now, Time Travel
Presenter(s): Michele E. Brockner, Teacher, Sullivan West at Delaware Valley
Length: 1 hour 15 minutes
Level: Elementary
Participant Limit: None

Schedule subject to change.
