Role of the USCT in the Abolitionist Movement and the Civil War
This workshop will explore some of the historical developments aimed at ending slavery in the US and how the actions led to the enlistment of black men into the Union ranks. Participants will also be provided with an introduction to the modern-day efforts to research, preserve, and remember the heroics of the more than 200,000 black soldiers of the Civil War.
